Share files between devices is very common today, there are countless of apps that allow us to do this.
Most applications focus on a single operating system, that means an application that facilitates the transfer of files to Android, iOS or Windows Phone. This seems to be changing, because Google is working on a service that would allow easy content sharing across platforms.
This new service will surely be known as Copresence with it are able to share content between devices. Android Police indicates that this new service makes use technology used in Chromecast, such as authentication via Bluetooth or wireless transmission.
For operating systems other than Android, Copresence could be achieved through an extension for Google Chrome , the rumors are to be submitted before the end of 2014, the launch date is unknown, but most likely, Google plans this out looking at a short to medium term.
Apple has a similar system for their devices, the AirDrop, which allows devices to share content between iDevices, the launch of Copresence may be beneficial for users who not only use Apple devices, and use more than one operating system on your day to day.
